Classic Donuts

  •  1 cup warm milk, whole
  • 2 1/2 tsp yeast
  • 4 cups flour
  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled

  1. In your mixing bowl, bloom the yeast in the warm milk and sugars.
  2. In another bowl, mix all dry ingredients and set aside.
  3. once the yeast blooms, add the eggs, butter, and half the dry mixture. Mix till mostly mixed and add the rest of the flour mixture.
  4. Knead till smooth. Form a ball and let it rise in a greased bowl for one hour or till doubled in size.
  5. Roll on a lightly floured surface to 1/2 inch and cut our donuts. Place on a lightly floured cookie sheet and cover with a damp towel and rise for another hour.
  6. Heat up your oil to 350 degrees and fry donuts for 2-3 minutes per side or till golden brown. Drain on a wire wrack. Once cool, glaze.

CHOCOLATE GLAZE

  • 1 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3-4 Tbsp water or milk
