Chocolate cookies from RubySnap
Chocolate cookies
½ cup butter, softened
¾ cup sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
½ cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup baking cocoa (less for a lighter cookie, more for a
heavier cookie)
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and
fluffy. Beat in egg, sour cream and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients; gradually
add to the creamed mixture.
Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased
baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until set. Yield: about 3
dozen.
*To make these the way mom likes them, add 1 tsp of cinnamon
to the dry ingredients, and once the doughballs are formed, insert mint
chocolate candies (Andes) in the middle of each. Bake as normal.
