Candy Cane Cookies

 Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 1/4Cups Butter. soft
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tsp Peppermint Extract
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla
  • 2 3/4 Cups Flour
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1/3 Cup finely crushed Candy Canes
  • 1/4 Tsp Red Food Coloring

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°. In a bowl, combine powdered sugar, butter, egg, peppermint extract, and vanilla till creamy. 
  2. Reduce speed and add the flour and salt.
  3. Half the doughs. In one half, fold in the candy cane pieces and in the other, the red food coloring.
  4. For each candy cane, roll 1 tsp full of each dough to tiny ropes. Set side by side and twist gently. 
  5. Place cookies 2 inches away from each other and bake for 10-12 minutes or till lightly golden on the edges.
  6. Tip! If dough is too dry, add milk. If too soft, refrigerate for 1 hour and add 1-2 Tbsp flour.
